The Friends of the Caird Hall Organ held their formal launch in the Caird Hall on 3 March 2010 in front of an audience of over 300 people. City Organist Stuart Muir and FOCHO Honorary President Gordon Stewart played the instrument, and there were brief speeches by interim Chair Jim McKellican and by Mark Venning (chairman of Harrison & Harrison, the organ's builder) spoke.
FOCHO is delighted to have signed up so many Friends at its first event and looks forward to promoting several further exciting events later this year.
Our grand launch takes place in the Caird Hall on Tuesday 2 March 2010 with Gordon Stewart and Stuart Muir. All welcome! Refreshments provided.
The Friends of the Caird Hall Organ have been established to promote the organ in the Caird Hall, built in 1923 and one of the finest concert hall organs in the country. We have an exciting programme of events planned for our first year.
